Startforth Parish Council

Contracts

The Parish Council has a contract with Pennine Playgrounds to carry out three quarterly operational inspections of the Stainmore Close Play Area and one annual safety inspection.

The Parish Council has a contract with Chris Mills for strimming of the land it owns (two small stretches of footpath and Church Bank Field).

Income

The vast majority of the Parish Council's income is derived from the annual precept — the portion of each household's Council Tax, paid to Durham County Council, which is determined by the Parish Council and which is received by the Parish Council in April each year.

A small amount of income is received from Northern Powergrid in respect of a way leave agreement.

For any projects or additional work, the Parish Council can attempt to raise funding through grants.
