Startforth Neighbourhood Plan
Startforth Neighbourhood Plan was made by resolution of Durham County Council on 28 January 2026 and the Plan is now in legal force, forming part of the statutory Development Plan for the Startforth Neighbourhood Area which comprises the whole of the Startforth Parish Council Area. Decisions on planning applications must now be made in accordance with policies in the Plan unless material considerations indicate otherwise.
Startforth Neighbourhood Plan
This is the Plan which was adopted by Durham County Council in January 2026.
Neighbourhood Plan Referendum
A referendum was held on Thursday 18 December 2025 to decide on the following question:
Do you want Durham County Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Startforth to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?
